Interior Design for New Construction Homes in Chapin and Lake Murray, South Carolina

New Build Interior Design by an Interior Architect Serving Chapin and Lake Murray

New build interior design for homes in Chapin, Lake Murray, Lexington and across the Midlands of South Carolina, from the first blueprint to move-in day.

Every new home reaches a moment when the builder hands over a selection sheet and a deadline, and a house full of permanent decisions must be made in a matter of weeks. Flooring, tile, cabinetry, countertops, lighting, plumbing, paint: each chosen once, each lived with for decades. Alexander Classic Interiors guides clients in Chapin, Lake Murray and across the Midlands through new construction with every one of those decisions already resolved, considered and coordinated long before the deadline arrives. Led by Savannah-Rose Alexander, a UCLA-trained interior architect, the studio is uniquely suited to new build work. Interior architecture is the discipline of designing from plans, reading a blueprint the way most people read a finished room, and catching the missed opportunities on paper, while they still cost nothing to change.

CREDENTIALS & AFFILIATIONS

Trained to the Highest Standard

The studio is affiliated with the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, the leading organization dedicated to the study and practice of classical design. New construction is where that training earns its name. Proportion, symmetry and scale must be resolved on paper, before a single wall exists to correct, and they reward a designer who understands not only how a home should look when it is finished, but how it should be drawn before it is begun.

WHY BEFORE THE BUILD

An Interior Designer for Your New Home, from the First Drawing

The most valuable hours an interior designer for a new home will ever spend are the ones before construction begins. On paper, a window can move to center on the future dining table. A hallway can borrow a foot for a deeper pantry. Outlets, sconces and ceiling fixtures can land exactly where the furniture plan needs them, rather than where the electrician guessed. After drywall, every one of those corrections becomes a change order. Before it, most cost nothing at all. This is why we encourage clients to bring us in when they engage their builder, not after. New build interior design done at the right moment does not add a layer to the process. It removes the most expensive layer of all: regret.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Design the Home Before the House

The best new homes are designed twice: once on paper, and once in materials. Our first task on any new build is to read the plans the way you will one day live in them, following the morning light through the kitchen, walking the sightline from the front door, checking that the dining room holds the table your family actually gathers around. Windows placed for the view rather than the elevation drawing. Lighting planned for the furniture, not the framing. Storage found in the inches a floor plan quietly wastes. From there, the selections write themselves in order: a balanced palette of finishes chosen as one composition, so the flooring speaks to the cabinetry, the cabinetry to the countertops, and every room to the one beside it. A new construction home offers what no renovation ever can, a beginning with nothing to undo, and our philosophy is simply to spend that advantage well.

DESIGNED FOR LAKE LIVING

Building New on Lake Murray?

A new build on the water is the rarest of opportunities: the chance to design a lake house around its view from the very first line. Window walls placed for the panorama and the afternoon sun. A kitchen that serves the porch as easily as the dining room. Bunk rooms, mudrooms and storage planned for the way a lake house fills up in July. Alexander Classic Interiors has made lake house design the signature of the studio, and new construction is where that experience delivers the most.

  • "Savannah is an excellent interior designer and architect who is truly gifted and absolutely wonderful to work with. We worked with her to remodel the first floor of our colonial home. She completely transformed it from an outdated 1980s style into an elegant and sophisticated look that wowed everyone. Using her own words "I make the house breathe". She has a natural talent of knowing what looks good in each setting. A true perfectionist, she pays attention to the smallest details. She has excellent understanding of what her clients want which made working with her so easy and pleasant. Moreover, she did such a great job hand-holding us through the renovation process that we barely felt any inconvenience or stress as she really managed everything. She truly cares about her clients and we feel that she always has our best interest in heart and always there for us when we need her. She is one of a kind and truly the best in our opinion."

WHY ALEXANDER CLASSIC INTERIORS

A Designer Trained in Interior Architecture

Savannah-Rose Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture from UCLA, one of the most rigorous design programs in the country. Her portfolio spans projects in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Atlanta, and she now brings that experience home to Chapin, Lake Murray and communities across South Carolina. The studio is affiliated with the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, the leading organization dedicated to the study and practice of classical design. New construction is where interior architecture training earns its name. Reading plans, anticipating light and resolving proportion before a wall exists is precisely what the discipline was made for, and it is the difference between decorating a house and designing one.

Quality Custom Cabinetry Logo

DEALERSHIPS & PARTNERSHIPS

QUALITY CUSTOM CABINETRY DEALER

Cabinetry is the largest single design decision in a new build, and the one your home will wear every day for decades. Alexander Classic Interiors is one of only three Quality Custom Cabinetry dealers in the state of South Carolina, which means your new home's kitchen, baths and built-ins can be fully custom from the first drawing, designed alongside your floor plan rather than ordered from a catalogue at the end. Every piece is bench made in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, where craftsmen work to tolerances production cabinet lines cannot approach, with hand-applied finishes and joinery built to last generations. Specified during construction, installed on the builder's schedule, and made for your walls alone.

How It Works

  • Discovery Call

It all starts with a conversation. The first step is to complete our contact form. Once we review your message, we will arrange a Discovery Call to talk through your build, your timeline and your design goals. If we are a good fit for each other, we will schedule our Design Consultation.

  • Consultation

Our Design Consultation, in person or virtual, allows us to create a profile of your project, review your plans and builder selections in detail, and provide you with an initial scope of work. After our consultation, we will prepare a proposal for your project and send it to you for review and signing.

  • Design Plan

We will prepare a comprehensive design plan based on what we have discussed at the consultation, sequenced around your builder's schedule so that every selection is ready ahead of its deadline. New clients typically receive their design plan within ten days, and we will keep you updated as we move through the process.

  • Implementation

After our Design Presentation, we will make any revisions and reselections necessary based on your comments. We will place orders, handle the fulfillment logistics, and promptly take care of any issues that may arise. Throughout construction, we will coordinate directly with your builder, architect and tradespeople to protect the design at every stage.

  • Installation & Styling

As construction reaches completion, we will prepare for and schedule our installation date, the Final Reveal. We will bring the furnishing items to your new home, set up and style the spaces. Furniture, accessories, and decor will be placed according to our design plan, so you move into a finished home rather than an empty one.

  • Photography

Our professional interiors photographer will capture your new home for our portfolio promptly after your project has been revealed. We will be careful to keep your information and the address of your project completely confidential. We take great pride in our work and look forward to showcasing your space.
