Custom Window Treatments in Chapin and Lake Murray, South Carolina
Custom Window Treatments by an Interior Architect Serving Chapin and Lake Murray
Custom drapery, blinds and shades designed for homes in Chapin, Lake Murray and across the Midlands of South Carolina.
Window treatments are the final word in a room, and the difference between custom and ready-made is visible from the doorway. Panels that stop short of the floor, rods hung too low, fabrics chosen from a catalogue rather than for the light of the room itself: these are the details that keep an otherwise beautiful home from feeling finished. Alexander Classic Interiors designs custom window treatments for homes in Chapin, Lake Murray and across the Midlands that are made for your windows, your light and your architecture, down to the inch. Led by Savannah-Rose Alexander, a UCLA-trained interior architect, the studio treats drapery as architecture in fabric. Proportion, scale and the way light enters a room are considered first, so that every panel, shade and blind serves the space rather than simply covering the glass.

CUSTOM DRAPERY
A Designer's Approach to Drapery
Drapery is where a trained eye matters most. A drapery designer thinks in terms the catalogue cannot: the weight of a linen against the drop of a silk, the fullness ratio that makes a panel look generous rather than skimpy, the precise height above the frame that lifts the ceiling of the entire room. Custom drapery is measured, specified and sewn for one set of windows only, which is why it hangs the way ready-made never will. Savannah-Rose brings her training in interior architecture to every drapery commission, from a single pair of panels to whole-home window treatment plans. If you have been searching for window treatments near me in the Chapin and Lake Murray area and finding only big-box options, this is the alternative: workroom-sewn drapery, designed rather than bought.
DESIGNED FOR LAKE LIVING
Window Treatments for the Lake Murray Lifestyle
A lake house lives by its windows, and that is precisely what makes them difficult to dress. Walls of glass invite glare and heat in high summer. Western light off the water fades unprotected fabrics and floors. Privacy matters at night in ways it does not during the day. Alexander Classic Interiors has made lake house design a signature of the studio, and that experience shapes every window treatment we design near the water. Solar shades that tame glare without erasing the view. Motorized systems for windows two stories up. Linens and performance fabrics that stand up to sun and humidity while still looking like they belong in a classic Southern home. The goal is always the same: protect the room, and never apologize for the view.

WHY ALEXANDER CLASSIC INTERIORS
A Designer Trained in Interior Architecture
Savannah-Rose Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture from UCLA, one of the most rigorous design programs in the country. Her career has taken her from Los Angeles to San Francisco to Atlanta, dressing windows in homes where the standard was nothing less than couture, and she now brings that same standard to Chapin, Lake Murray and the Midlands. The studio is affiliated with the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, the leading organization dedicated to the study and practice of classical design. Drapery is tailoring at the scale of a room. It rewards a designer trained to see proportion, weight and line, and to know the difference between fabric that is hung and fabric that is dressed.
DEALERSHIPS & PARTNERSHIPS
One of Three in South Carolina
Alexander Classic Interiors is an authorized dealer for Quality Custom Cabinetry, a Lancaster County, Pennsylvania workshop building bespoke cabinetry for the home and office. It is a distinction held by only three studios in the whole of South Carolina. Every kitchen, library and custom built-in is made to order rather than selected from a catalogue, which means cabinetry drawn to the exact proportions of the room it will occupy and finished to the standard that room deserves. For clients across Chapin and the Lake Murray area, it is the difference between cabinetry that fits and cabinetry that belongs.

Custom Window Treatment Questions, Answered
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Skilled professional workrooms, working from our exact specifications. We design, measure and specify every detail; the workroom fabricates it to couture standards.
-
No. Window treatments can be commissioned on their own, whether for a single room or an entire home. Many clients begin with drapery and later invite us into larger projects, but there is no requirement to do so. If you already have a finished room that simply needs its windows dressed, we will design treatments that honor what is there.
-
Yes. Two-story great room windows, transoms and lake-facing walls of glass are some of our favorite commissions. For these we often recommend motorized shades or drapery, operated from a remote or your phone, so the treatment is as effortless to live with as it is beautiful.
-
Sun off the water is the real challenge. We specify linings, solar shades and performance fabrics that resist fading and humidity, and we select colors and weaves with the exposure of each window in mind. You should never have to choose between protecting the room and keeping the view.
-
Absolutely, and we often recommend it. A woven wood or Roman shade handles privacy and light control while the drapery frames the window, and each layer can work independently of the other.
-
It depends on the number of windows, the fabrics and the complexity of the treatment, so we do not quote from a price list. After your consultation you will receive a clear proposal for your specific windows, with no surprises.
-
You will typically have your design plan within ten days. Fabrication follows approval and varies with the workroom and fabrics selected; most projects are installed within several weeks. We will give you a realistic schedule before anything is ordered.
