Custom Cabinetry in Chapin and Columbia, South Carolina
Custom Cabinetry by an Interior Architect Serving Chapin, Lake Murray and Columbia
Custom kitchen cabinets, built-ins and closets designed for homes in Chapin, Lake Murray, Columbia and across the Midlands of South Carolina.
Cabinetry is the architecture inside the architecture. It decides whether a kitchen feels composed or crowded, whether a study invites you to stay, whether a closet works the way you dress. Alexander Classic Interiors designs custom made cabinets for homes in Chapin, Columbia and the Lake Murray area that are built for their rooms alone: measured to the inch, detailed by hand, and made to outlast every trend that passes through the catalogue. Led by Savannah-Rose Alexander, a UCLA-trained interior architect, the studio approaches cabinetry the way a classical architect approaches a facade. Proportion comes first. Then the details: the depth of a shaker rail, the reveal around an inset door, the way a run of cabinets meets the ceiling without apology.
CREDENTIALS & AFFILIATIONS
Trained to the Highest Standard
The studio is affiliated with the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, the leading organization dedicated to the study and practice of classical design. Cabinetry is where classical training shows most plainly. Proportion, symmetry and craft cannot be faked in a run of inset doors, and they reward a designer who understands not only how cabinetry should look, but how it should be joined, finished and installed.

CUSTOM KITCHEN CABINETS
Custom Kitchen Cabinets, Designed Rather Than Ordered
The kitchen is where custom cabinetry earns its keep. Stock and semi-custom cabinets come in fixed increments, which is why so many kitchens end with filler strips, awkward gaps and wasted corners. Custom kitchen cabinets are drawn for your walls, your windows and your ceiling height, so the room reads as one continuous piece of architecture rather than a collection of boxes. Savannah-Rose designs every kitchen cabinet elevation herself, from the overall proportion down to the hardware placement, and works with craftsmen who build to those drawings exactly. The result is a kitchen where the cabinetry does not simply fit the room. It completes it.
DESIGNED FOR LAKE LIVING
Cabinetry for the Lake Murray Lifestyle
Lake living asks more of cabinetry than most homes ever will. Mudroom lockers that swallow towels and life jackets. Bunk room built-ins that sleep a crowd of grandchildren. Kitchen islands sized for a Saturday's worth of guests, and bar cabinetry positioned for the sunset side of the house. Alexander Classic Interiors has made lake house design a signature of the studio, and that experience shapes every cabinet we design near the water. Durable finishes that shrug off humidity and wet swimsuits. Storage planned for how a lake house actually fills up in summer. Cabinetry that works this hard, and still looks like it belongs in a classic South Carolina home.

WHY ALEXANDER CLASSIC INTERIORS
A Designer Trained in Interior Architecture
Savannah-Rose Alexander holds a Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture from UCLA, one of the most rigorous design programs in the country. Her portfolio spans projects in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Atlanta, and she now brings that experience home to Chapin, Lake Murray and communities across South Carolina. The studio is affiliated with the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art, the leading organization dedicated to the study and practice of classical design. Window treatments are among the most exacting details in a home, where fabric, hardware and architecture meet at a single point. They reward a designer trained to see proportion, weight and line, and to insist on fabrication worthy of the room.

How It Works
-
Discovery Call
It all starts with a conversation. The first step is to complete our contact form. Once we review your message, we will arrange a Discovery Call to talk through your cabinetry project and design goals. If we are a good fit for each other, we will email you and schedule our Design Consultation.
-
Consultation
Our Design Consultation, in person or virtual, allows us to create a profile of your project, review your space and measurements in detail, and provide you with an initial scope of work. After our consultation, we will prepare a proposal for your project and send it to you for review and signing.
-
Design Plan
We will prepare a comprehensive design plan based on what we have discussed at the consultation and present it to you for review. New clients typically receive their design plan within ten days, and we will keep you updated as we move through the process. Your design plan will be refined prior to implementation.

Custom Cabinetry Questions, Answered
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Semi-custom cabinets are factory boxes offered in fixed sizes with a menu of modifications. Custom cabinetry is drawn and built for your room alone, to any dimension, in any configuration, with no filler strips and no compromises.
-
Alexander Classic Interiors is one of only three Quality Custom Cabinetry dealers in South Carolina. Each piece is benchmade in Pennsylvania to our exact drawings and specifications, with hand-applied finishes and joinery built to last generations. For certain projects we also work with trusted local craftsmen when the scope suits it.
-
Yes, and in an older or classically detailed home we would insist on it. We study the existing trim profiles, panel proportions and finishes so that new cabinetry looks original to the house rather than added to it.
-
Yes. Custom built-ins and custom closet cabinets are a significant part of our work, from a single window seat to a full dressing room. Anywhere a room needs storage that looks like architecture, cabinetry is usually the answer.
-
No. Cabinetry can be commissioned on its own. A library wall, a mudroom, a closet or a butler's pantry can each stand alone as a project, and many clients begin with one piece and return for more.
-
It varies with size, materials, finish and complexity, so we do not quote from a price list. After your consultation you will receive a clear proposal for your specific project, with no surprises.
-
You will typically have your design plan within ten days of our consultation. Fabrication lead times are set by the cabinetmaker and vary with the scope and finish selected, and we will give you a realistic schedule before anything is ordered.
